By Carson Handran, web designer in Bluffton, SC. About 5 minutes.
Short answer: a one-page site from a local designer runs about $1,000. A full small business site with five to ten pages, written copy and a Google Business Profile setup runs $2,000 to $5,000. A Savannah agency build starts around $3,500 and goes past $15,000. A template builder like Wix or Squarespace is $16 to $50 a month plus somewhere between ten and forty hours of your own time.
Those numbers come from reading the pricing pages of every Savannah, Pooler and Richmond Hill web design company that ranked on the first page of Google in September 2026, plus what I charge. Most of them do not publish a price at all. This post exists because you should be able to find one without booking a call.
What Savannah agencies charge
Of the eight agencies that rank for web design in Savannah, only two show a price. One publishes a range of $3,500 to $15,000 and a four to eight week timeline. The other publishes four tiers, starting at $2,000 for a one to five page site plus $23 a month for hosting, and rising to $25,000 for a large build. A Charleston agency that ranks here starts at $4,499. A Bluffton agency that ranks for the Hilton Head market starts at $5,000.
Everyone else says "request a quote". In practice their quotes land in the same range: $3,000 to $8,000 for a small business site, more if there is a shop, a booking system or a lot of pages. The bigger the agency, the more of the price goes to the account manager, the project manager and the office, not to the site.
What actually drives the price
Five things move the number, in roughly this order.
- Page count. One landing page is a day or two of work. Ten service pages with real copy is a couple of weeks.
- Copy. If you have the words, it is cheaper. If someone has to interview you and write them, that is real time. It is also the part most people skip and the part that decides whether the site converts.
- Photos. Stock photos are free and hurt you. Real photos of you and your work cost a shoot.
- Features. A contact form is standard. Online booking, a customer portal, a shop or a members area each add days and sometimes a monthly software fee.
- Google setup. A site nobody finds is decor. Setting up the Business Profile, matching it to the site and getting the directories right is separate work, and most quotes leave it out.
What I charge
I publish every price at /pricing, so this is the same list you will find there.
- One Page, $997. The base: one strong page that gets people to call or book, form wired and tested, analytics on, live in about a week. Every bigger site starts from this.
- Launch, $1,997. The base plus three to five pages, reviews, a FAQ and a map. This is the site most Savannah service businesses should start with.
- Growth, $3,497. Launch plus keyword research, three service pages written to rank, your Google Business Profile set up to match the site, and booking. The accumulation of everything a business needs to get found.
- Custom quote. Anything bigger is the base plus lines from the menu, added up in writing: extra service pages at $549, town pages at $599, landing pages at $897. Stores and portals are scoped after we talk.
- After launch, hosting and care are $59 a month (Host), $179 with edits and a monthly health check (Maintain), or $499 with unlimited edits and your Google profile run every week (Grow).
What a template builder really costs
Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy run $16 to $50 a month for a plan that removes their ads and connects your domain. That is $200 to $600 a year, forever. The bigger cost is your time. Most owners spend ten to forty hours building the first version, then stop updating it because it is painful.
There is nothing wrong with that route for a business that is just starting and has more time than money. The trade-off is what shows up on Google and how many calls the site turns into. I lay the comparison out at /compare/wix-vs-custom-website and /compare/squarespace-vs-custom-website without pretending the builders are useless.
Costs people forget to ask about
Ask every designer these before you sign.
- Who owns the site and the domain? You should. Some agencies keep both and charge you to leave.
- What does hosting cost after launch, and what does it include? Mine is $59 a month and includes security updates and backups.
- What does an edit cost? Hours change, prices change. If every change is a $150 invoice you will stop making them.
- Is there a contract? Mine is month to month.
- Is the Google Business Profile included? If not, budget for it or do it yourself.
How to compare two quotes
Put both quotes next to each other and check that they cover the same things: page count, who writes the copy, whether photos are included, whether the Google profile is set up, what hosting costs after, and who owns the result. A $4,000 quote that includes copy, photos and Google can be cheaper than a $2,500 quote that includes none of them.
